Tear Some Earthquake In Turkey! And How They Occur.

Disastrous Earthquake In Turkey!

And how they occur:

As we know in the past few days Turkey and some other countries faced a fearsome earthquake.

So let me first tell you guys why earthquakes occur. The surface of the earth is like a jigsaw puzzle.  But not only one piece there are almost 20 pieces of the earth's puzzle. And all of these pieces collide with each other very slowly so that we don't feel it.

Each one of these pieces is called a tectonic plate. So whenever these plates bump, slide, or hit against each other an earthquake is formed. The surface where these plates slip is called the "Fault Plane". These plates bump, slide, and hit each other every time, but you don't need to worry cause the quakes are too small we don't feel them, but sometimes the quakes are too big they can be felt over 1000 miles.

The plates where the earthquake originates are called the Hypocenter. And the place where it occurs on the upper surface is called the Epicenter.

So now that was enough of earthquakes and how they occur. Now let's talk about Turkey and what happened to it. Turkey had a 7.8-magnitude earthquake which was a shocking one! Many famous buildings and houses came crashing down. Such as Gaziantep Castle in southeastern Turkey dates back to Hittite Empire and has been a museum and tourist attraction in modern times.

Thousands of people died and ten thousand of them got injured. Rescue teams are still desperately searching for signs of life beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings amid grim conditions, but days on from the massive tremblor, the chances of finding survivors lessen with every passing hour.

Tips For Surviving An Earthquake:

* Drop down onto your hands and knees before the earthquake knocks you down.

* Cover your head and neck ( and entire body if possible) underneath a sturdy table or a desk.

* Hold on to your shelter (or to the head and neck) until the shaking stops.

The End!
